Welcome to GolfSouth Magazine's website. 2008 will mark the 14th anniversary of GolfSouth Magazine, the southeast's leading golf publication.

In the mid-1990s GolfSouth was awarded the Eckhoff Award for the best regional golf magazine in the country.

At the helm for the last 14 years, Ian Thompson, our Editor, is recognized by many as the leading golf writer in our main coverage area of Alabama and Northwest Florida. A native of the south coast of England, Ian brings an unflappable British slant to his writings and reviews. Being a low handicap player, he gives our readers a unique perspective when we cover new and recently renovated golf courses.

For the last 13 years Ian has written, and continues to write, a golf column for The Birmingham News, Alabama's largest daily newspaper, and has received many accolades for his work.
